30 DAY COMIC BOOK MEME
Day 30: What Comic Book would you recommend to someone who has never read a Comic Book?
Wow, last day already. I would have to say Ultimate Spider-Man. I had a hard time deciding over the course of this meme, thinking about all of the different factors involved, like the ability to enjoy the book, the story, and the dialog. Ultimate Spider-Man, though not technically a part of the “real” Marvel Universe, opens the reader up into a new world with characters they are familiar with. It’s inviting, funny, and exciting. Most perspectives are addressed, and it’s easy to slip into Peter Parker’s world. Hopefully, a book like this can open the eyes of any non-reader to the wide, wonderful world of comics.

Day 24: Favorite Cosplay?
Hmmm, I’m not really into cosplay, but I did remember this one! I thought she looked great as Rogue. And I love how she did the hair!
I can’t believe this meme is almost over. I wonder what I’ll do next.

Day 23: Funniest moment?
“You are so fat that your high school yearbook photo was taken from a helicopter.”
Okay spidey, there’s witty banter here and there, but you really have a list of fat jokes that you’ve been preparing in anticipation of fighting the Kingpin? Amazing. Just… amazing. Ultimate Spider-Man is one of the funniest comics around.

Day 18: Favorite Piece of Art?
I actually don’t know about this. It’s hard to pick just one. But the very first thing that popped into my mind was Ryan Ottley’s Hulk vs. Totoro piece, so I’ll put it up!

Day 17: Favorite Comic Book issue?
Giant-Size X-Men number 1! Deadly Genesis! In which they introduce a bunch of new mutants and the Marvel Universe was forever changed! This was, after all, one of the first X comics I ever read, in the back of the first hardcover volume of Ultimate X-Men, and it’s what spurred on my obsession with the mutant world. Thanks, Len Wein and Dave Cockrum!
